Quinns Due Back At The High Court In Dublin
Sean Quinn, his son Sean Jnr and nephew Peter Darragh are due back at the High Court in Dublin today.
The three men face a further hearing regarding the decision in July that they breached a court order by asset stripping.
The hearing follows a further blow to the Quinns after the news on Wednesday that Sean Quinn Jnr’s appeal against his jail sentence was rejected.
Quinn Jnr had appealed against a jail sentence imposed on him for contempt of court, after he put funds beyond the reach of bailed-out Anglo Irish Bank.
Miss Justice Elizabeth Dunne said the evidence given by the three men had been "evasive, incredible and untruthful".
The judge said she was convinced the three men would do anything to hold onto their properties, mainly in Russia, Ukraine and India, and their rental incomes.
Peter Darragh Quinn has avoided jail by not showing up for a court hearing and remaining in Northern Ireland.
Sean Quinn Jr, who is behind bars, may be released.
His father was once the richest man in Ireland, but is now now bankrupt. He could be imprisoned if he shows up to today’s court hearing.
Quinn was spared jail so that he could cooperate with Anglo Irish in recovering assets on behalf of the Irish taxpayer. But Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC), which now owns Anglo Irish, has given no indication that he has done so.
Sean Quinn Jr's appeal was rejected on Wednesday and he has been jailed indefinitely.
The sentence will be reviewed after three months.
IBRC may attempt to keep Sean Quinn Jr in prison and could try to see his father imprisoned aswell.
