Gardaí Waiting To Speak To Mother About 11-Year-Old's Death
Gardai are waiting to interview a mother after her 11-year-old daughter was found dead at her home in suspicious circumstances.
It is believed the interview is crucial to discovering how the little girl died.
Her mother’s partner discovered 11-year-old Emily Scully at the family home they shared.
The girls mother, 55-year-old Dr Bernadette Scully, a GP, was also discovered unconscious and is fighting for her life in intensive care.
Detectives are waiting for the results of a toxicology report to help establish how the girl died.
They think her mother likely has information which could explain what took place on Saturday night.
Detectives are not seeking to talk to anybody else at this stage of the investigation.

The bodies of Conor(9), Darragh(7) and Carla(3) McGinley were discovered at a house at Parson's Court in Newcastle village, northwest of Rathcoole, on Friday 24 January 2020. The woman, aged in her 40s, is the children's mother.

Gardai have issued an appeal to the mother of a newborn baby whose body was found in a recycling depot to contact them. The body was discovered at a waste plant outside Bray in Co Wicklow on Wednesday morning. Superintendent Pat Ward, who is leading the investigation, said he is concerned for the welfare of the baby's mother.

The HSE is facing tough criticism after a mother who refused to listen to doctors who told her that her baby had died in the womb successfully gave birth to a baby boy. The incident began last year when, after a scan at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, mother Melissa Redmond was told by a doctor that her foetus had died.

11-Year-Old Boy Killed In Car Collision
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy died when he was struck by a car in Co Offaly. It is understood the boy was cycling to school on the R446 old Dublin to Galway road when he was hit by a car at Marshbrook, near Moate, at around 9am this morning, 01 September. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 11-year-old boy has been hospitalised after he was shot in the arm. The incident happened at the boy's home in Tallaght, Dublin, on Saturday morning (28 February). Gardaí were called to the scene at Belgard Road between 2am and 4am. The boy was taken to Tallaght Hospital. His injuries have been described as "non-life threatening".
