Gardai Investigate Post Office Robbery

Gardai are investigating a robbery at a Post Office at Ramsgate, which happened yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 3.30pm, a lone raider entered the Post office and threatened staff, he left the Post Office with a sum of cash.

The raider a male was wearing balaclava, he was approx 5'10" in height and wearing a dark tracksuit bottoms.

Witnesses who may have witnesses the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in Ramsgate or anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardai in New Ross on 051 426030, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Govt Accused of Undermining Post Office Network
The government has been accused of continuing to undermine the Post Office network across Ireland. Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Communications Michael Moynihan made the comments after the Department of Social Protection issued letters to jobseekers recommending that they bypass Post Offices by using financial institutions to receive their payments.
