Remaining Ulster Bank Account Issues Won't Be Resolved For Several Weeks

It will be several weeks before all issues with customers' accounts will be fully resolved, according to Ulster Bank's chief executive.

In an interview with RTÉ News, Jim Brown said while systems are now running normally, there are problems with some unprocessed and duplicated transactions.

He said the bank expects to pay out "tens of millions of euro" in compensation and that they are finalising details of the scheme that will be paid in addition to automatic refunds of incorrectly-applied interest and fees.

The technical problem which occurred last month during a software upgrade at parent company RBS disrupted electronic transactions and created a massive backlog processing payments.
