Gardai Uncover Co Galway Cannabis Farm
Gardai has uncovered a cannabis cultivation factory in Co Galway.
Around 800 plants and growing equipment worth an estimated €640,000 were seized at a property at Clovewood, Derrylissane, Menlough, Co Galway at 2pm yesterday.
A man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Galway Garda Station under Sect 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The discovery was part of a planned search and involved members of the Divisional Drug Unit and local Gardai.
Meanwhile, two men were arrested and cannabis plants believed to be worth €140,000, were seized when gardai raided a house at Ballacolla, Co Laois.
The search also took place yesterday and the men are being held at Portlaoise Garda Station, Gardai said.

Gardai have seized herbal cannabis following a raid on a house in Wexford. It is estimated to have a street value of €45,000. A number of plants were found during the search of a property in Lee Heights on Thursday. No arrests were made and investigations are continuing.

Man Arrested Over €400,000 Cannabis Find
Cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 has been seized in Co Donegal. Members of the Revenue and Gardaí uncovered the drugs during a search at Castlefin on Tuesday. Garda arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the find.

Man Arrested Following Cannabis Find
Gardai have arrested a man after 300 cannabis plants, worth around €250,000, were seized in Co Offaly. The plants were found at a house at Coolcur in Rhode on Wednesday. A 50-year-old male is currently being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

Two Men Arrested Following Cannabis Find
Two men have been arrested after Gardai seized an estimated €700,000 worth of cannabis plants in Virginia, Co Cavan. Detectives searched a warehouse in a planned operation this morning and found a major cultivation operation with an estimated 800 cannabis plants. The two males are being questioned in Bailieborough Garda station.
