Man Dies In N2 Collision

Gardai in Ashbourne, Co Meath are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the N2 just outside Ashbourne.

The collision between a lorry and a van occurred at around 9.05pm on the 2nd April at The Rath, Ashbourne, just outside the town.

One male (32yrs) was seriously injured and taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination but has re-opened.

Two Dead In Separate Collisions
Two people have died on Ireland's roads after traffic collisions in Dublin and Kilkenny in the last two days. In the latest incident, a male aged 19 was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a stationary vehicle. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital.

Four Killed On Irish Roads This Weekend
A number of separate road crashes this weekend have claimed four lives, including a father and son. John Gallagher, 55, and his 24-year-old son Sean died when their car collided with another vehicle at Burt on Saturday morning. The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Road, Burt, on the Main Letterkenny to Derry Road at approximately 10.

Cyclist Killed In Collision With Lorry
Gardaí in Limerick have confirmed a cyclist has died following a collision with a lorry. The cyclist, thought to be woman aged in her 30s, died after colliding with an articulated lorry at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr. Matthew Bridge and Charlotte's Quay at about 07.30 on Wednesday morning.

Northern Driver Killed In Collision With Lorry
Police have now named the man killed in Monaghan after his van collided with a lorry yesterday morning. Gardai said the male victim was 59-year-old Michael Manley from Greaghnacapple, Roslea, Co. Fermanagh. Officers in Monaghan are investigating the accident, which occurred on the main Clones to Monaghan road at Stonebridge, Clones, Co.

Witness Appeal Following Death Of A Man In Co Monaghan
Gardaí have appeal for witnesses following the death of a man in County Monaghan. The body of the man, believed to be aged in his 80s, was discovered on the side of the road at Carnaveigh, Castleblaney at 4pm on Wednesday, 11 October. A blue Opel Corsa was found crashed nearby. The driver of the car, a woman in her 20s, was not injured.
