Life Sentence Given To "For The Buzz" Killer

21-year-old Martin Morgan has been given a life sentence for the murder a 27-year-old ‘model worker’ on his way to work.

His two co-accused have been jailed for manslaughter. Morgan’s cousin Edward Byrne, 21, was given twelve years and Stephen Byrne, 18, nine.

Lukasz Rzeszutko was beaten to death ‘for a buzz’ as he made his way to work on the morning October 2, 2010.

The three men had pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. However, a jury found Morgan guilty of murder earlier this month, after hearing that he had jumped and stamped on the victim’s head.

The DPP accepted the pleas of the other two men.

Mr Justice White told all three to stand in court today as he described their attack on him as mindless and savage. He also said that Mr Rzeszutko was not a single victim, but he was a son and brother.

“Your actions have not only cost Mr Rzeszutko his life but you’ve caused anguish and pain to his family,” he said.
