Further Disruptions To Luas Red Line

A fire in buildings close to the Luas route in Dublin city centre at the weekend continue to cause disruptions to the red line.

As a result, trams are only operating between Tallaght and Heuston Station today and tomorrow. There is no service from Heuston to the city centre.

Frequency on the line has also changed. Trams are operating every seven to ten minutes during peak times and 15 to 20 minutes off peak.

The green line Luas is operating as normal.

Passengers are being advised to allow extra time for travel.

Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus. The number 90 and 145 routes will pick up Luas passengers from Customs House Quay and Tara Street train station for the journey to Heuston Station.

Luas has been requested by Dublin City Council to turn off the power to the overhead lines in the affected area as buildings in the immediate vicinity of the track need to be protected or demolished. A safety cordon is in operation.

Updated information will be made available tomorrow.
