Housing Adaption Grant Scheme Welcomed

Dublin North East Labour TD, Sean Kenny has welcomed the announcement today that the total allocation by the Department of the Environment and Dublin City Council is to be over €10 Million and the allocation for Fingal County Council is to be over €2 Million.

Mr Kenny said: "The grant will help people to make changes and adaptations to their home, for example, making it wheelchair-accessible, extending it to create more space, adding a ground-floor bathroom or toilet or a stair-lift.

"With investments such as these, older people and people with a disability will be able to achieve a better quality of life, as the grant will mean that they are able to stay in their own home, with familiar surroundings and close to their friends and families."
