Man Jailed For Blackmailing Former Councillor
A man from Dublin who blackmailed a former Fianna Fáil councillor using photos of him supposedly taking cocaine has been jailed for 18 months.
Wesley Higgins from Kilmore, Coolock, tried to extort €5,000 from Liam Kelly by threatening to give pictures from a party to a newspaper in August 2006.
Higgns sent the photos to the newspaper after failing to blackmail Mr Kelly.
He pleaded guilty to demanding money with menaces.
Mr Kelly said he cannot remember parts of the party as he suffers from blackouts caused by his alcoholism.

Missing 15-Year-Old Found 'Safe And Well'
Garda searching for missing 15-year-old Kelly Adebutu have reported that she has been "safe and well". Gardaí in Clondalkin had issued an appeal for help in tracing the teenager, who had been missing since Sunday, 07 February. No further information has been released, but garda have thanked the public for their help.
