Taoiseach Offers Condolences For Aengus Fanning

The Taoiseach has expressed his sadness on learning of the death of Aengus Fanning, Editor of the Sunday Independent newspaper.

Speaking on Tuesday, Enda Kenny said described Aengus as a charismatic and significant media figure who took a very hands on approach to his job as Editor of the Sunday Independent.

"Throughout his 28 year tenure as Editor of the paper, he ensured that the Sunday Independent remained relevant and influential on the important news stories of the day.

"I want to pass on my condolences to his wife Anne and his sons and wider family and friends and to all his colleagues at Independent Newspapers."

DCC To Install Solar Panels
Solar panels are to installed at the Civic Offices of Dublin City Council and four public libraries in the city. The panels, which generate power using natural light as opposed to sunshine, are expected to save up to €21,000 a year on electricity bills.
