Search Resumes For Missing Fishermen

The search for five fishermen missing after a trawler sank off the west coast of Ireland continues this morning.

One Egyptian man was saved from the water is said to be in a comfortable condition st Cork University Hospital.

The missing men are Michael Hayes, 52, student Kevin Kershaw, 21, and Egyptians Waal Addelgwad, Ali Eldien and Zhaban Farrg.

Relatives have spent the last day waiting for news on the pier in Union Hall.

Many trawlers have scanned the area, and two trawlers have searched the inside harbour.

Naval Service and Garda divers had to postpone the search yesterday due to poor light and big swells.

Search Launched For Missing Fishermen Off Co Wexford Coast
A search is underway off the south Wexford coast for a fishermen missing from his boat. According to reports the alarm as raised at around 12:30 on Monday when a boat was found near the Great Saltee Island with nobody on board. It is understood that the missing fisherman had gone out lobster fishing this morning.

Navy Joins Missing Fishermen Search
The search for two fishermen, missing off the east coast, is continuing with aid from the Navy. 26-year-old Ronan Browne and 41-year-old David Gilsenan, from the Skerries area, failed to return to Skerries Harbour after a lobster fishing trip on Friday. Naval patrol vessel Le Emer is co-ordinating the search in the Irish sea.

Bodies Of Missing Fishermen Recovered
Local divers found the bodies of two missing fishermen near Spanish Point in Co Clare shortly before lunchtime. A search for the men had been underway since their fishing boat, the Lady Eileen, failed to return to port at Quilty yesterday afternoon.
