Dublin Hospitals Announce Restrictions Over Bug

Two major Dublin hospitals have put in place visiting restrictions because of the winter vomiting disease.

St Vincent's University Hospital and Beaumont Hospital said they are asking the public to only make strictly essential visits and announced the closure of a number of beds.

Some 15 are closed at Beaumont while 12 beds are closed at St Vincent's due to the outbreaks of the bug.

St Vincent's said that to date 69 patients had been affected with nine new cases confirmed on Tuesday.

Beaumont reported 41 cases with 10 announced since Sunday.

The hospitals are asking that members of the public who have symptoms such as upset stomach should not attend and should contact their GP if they have serious concerns.
