Knitwear Company Stitches Together 150 Jobs
A craft and knitwear company will increase its workforce by 150 in Mayo, according to reports on Monday.
Carraig Donn Ltd in Westport said it has been able to expand its operations due to the growth of its export markets and the development of its online retail sales.
The family run craft business started in 1965, when the late Padraic and Maire Hughes and their 13 children began producing knitwear for the tourist market.
Now the company is a market leader in the field employing 300 people.
Carraig Donn has 28 stores located across Ireland and is continuing to grow year on year, the company said.

Translink Workers Reject Pay Offer
Translink NI workers have rejected a pay offer from the public transport company. Unite, GMB and SIPTU confirmed that their members has "decisively voted to reject as inadequate" a pay offer made by Translink management. Workers were offered a 5% pay increase and a non-consolidated one-off payment of £1,500 for the 2023-2024 financial year.

Brexit has cost Irish exporters more than €100,000 to date, a survey conducted by Enterprise Ireland has revealed. Surveying client companies attending International Markets Week, Enterprise Ireland found that 53% of companies say Brexit has impacted their business, with one in ten companies citing that Brexit has cost their business over €100K.
