Protest To Save Bus Services Gets Underway

Local residents from both the north and south sides of the number 19 route in Dublin will unite in common protest today.

The demonstration is in protest against the proposal from Dublin Bus to scrap the 19 Bus.

A joint demonstration will get underway outside of the offices of the National Transport Authority at 12.30 today.

Over 10,000 residents and commuters across the city have signed the 'Save the 19 Bus' petition.

A detailed submission, highlighting the negative effects of Dublin Bus’ proposal on children, older people, local businesses, access to services, tourism and local communities was also signed by 13 TDs and 24 local Councilors (representing all political parties) who support this campaign.

Minister Announces €1.5bn Social Housing Plan

Gardaí Warn Of College Green Traffic Changes
A new traffic scheme that aims to significantly reduce journey times for cross city public transport and facilitate increased reliability and frequency starts in Dublin on Monday. The College Green Bus Corridor Scheme will be operational from Monday to Friday between the hours 7am to 10am and 4pm to 7pm inclusive.

€15m Fund Announced For Vacant Homes
A €15m fund to bring vacant local authority houses back into use has been launched by Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O'Sullivan, TD. Local authorities have been asked to submit their proposals for funding under the scheme by 28th March next.
