EU To Address Portugal's Bailout
Portugal has been told to employ new economic measures if it wants an EU/IMF bailout.
Eurozone Finance Ministers said the country will have to go beyond initial proposals made by its outgoing government.
EU Finance Ministers are meeting in Hungary today to discuss the latest bailout.
It is believed that Ireland may benefit from developments if the interest rate offered to Portugal is lower than that offered to Ireland.
This week's developments in Lisbon have put a cut in Ireland's bailout interest rate on the back burner.
Portugal's bailout is expected to be somewhere between €60bn-€90bn.

EU Plan New Bailout Fund

A package of economic monitoring and surveillance measures will also been drawn to shore up the single currency. The draft hopes to strengthen the economic governance and competitiveness of the eurozone and of the European Union.

Troika Officials Review Bailout Agreement
Troika officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European Union (EU) are back in Ireland today to review its bailout agreement. They will examine last month's budget and whether it can deliver the growth and taxes pledged for 2012.

Taoiseach Addresses Corporate Rate
The Taoiseach has said he would push for a lower interest rate for Ireland's EU/IMF bailout, but that higher corporate taxes would not be part of any deal. During a visit to New York, to encourage American investment in the Ireland, Enda Kenny added that a deal had been mapped out to lower the nearly 6% interest rate.
