Garda Make Arrests Over Shooting In Mulhuddart

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at a public house in Mulhuddart last Saturday.

Two men have been arrested and a number of searches have been carried out.

A number of shots were fired at the front door of a Public house around 11.50pm injuring a 50-year-old man. His injuries are not life threatening.

Six houses were searched in Blanchardstown and Maynooth. Two men, aged 19 and 22, were arrested and are currently detained at Blancharstown Garda Station.

A car which Gardaí believe was used in the incident was recovered on Sunday evening in the north of the city.

Investigations are continuing.

Arrests Over Deadly Dublin Feud
Two men have been arrested after a spate of gun and pipe-bomb attacks in Dublin that led to the death of a known gang member. The two men are in custody and a firearm and ammunition have been recovered following the shooting incident at Lealand Avenue at about 2am on Saturday morning.

Arrests Follow Double Newry Stabbing
The border city of Newry has been blighted by a double stabling incident. Two men have been taken to hospital in the North after they were stabbed in the stomach. It is understood there was an altercation some time before 5am this morning at a house in Drumgullion Avenue, Newry. A third man received a slash wound to his arm.

Over 100 Arrests Made In Organised Crime Sweep
113 people have been arrested as part of an operation targeting organised crime. Gardaí carried out some 236 planned searches across the country in relation to the investigation. Around 4,200 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €3.5 million were seized at five grow houses in counties Cork, Meath, Wexford and Dublin yesterday.

Arrests Follow Mayo Assaults
Gardaí investigating two serious incidents at Ballinrobe Co Mayo at the weekend have made arrests. Having conducted a number of searches this morning (Wednesday) in counties Mayo, Galway and Sligo, officers have arrested three men.

Three Arrested In Connection With Drugs Find
Three people have been arrested after 72,000 ecstasy tablets, worth an estimated street value of €720,000, were seized in Dublin on Tuesday. Officers from Revenue's Customs Service, assisted by the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau discovered the drugs during two house searches. Two men, aged 42 and 43, and a woman, 46, were arrested.
