Hauliers Threaten Action On Fuel Prices

With the price of petrol having reached a record high, the owner of a haulage company in Donegal has said he will stage a major blockade across the entire country if the new government does not address the price of fuel.

The owner of JML Fuels, John McLoughlin, recently organised a major rally from Donegal across the country before staging a protest in Dublin.

He also met with the Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny to outline his concerns and he has said that hauliers will bring the country to a standstill if the problem is not tackled.

The cost of a litre has now surpassed the €1.50c mark at many of the country's petrol stations.

That compares to this time last year when the cost of a litre of unleaded petrol was €1.27.
