Birr School Gets €500,000 Extension

A €500,000 school extension is to get underway soon in Co Offaly with the main contractor recently appointed for the works involved in the construction of an extension and alterations to the Crinkill National School, Crinkill, Birr.

The new extension will be of 670 square metres comprising of the erection of a new single storey extension including GP room, library, staff room, multi-purpose room and two classrooms to the existing school building, provision of staff and visitor car parking, bus set down area and all ancillary site works.

According to the website, unearthore.com, the main construction work is expected to commence on site during late February and the contract period is estimated at six months. The cost of the scheme is in the region of €500,000 with sub-contractors due to be appointed shortly.

The architect is McCarthy O'Hora Associates and the main contractor is Ollie Kenny Ltd.
