Man In Court Over 'Road Rage' Killing

A 29-year-old man will appear in court today charged with the killing of a man during what has been described as a "road rage" incident in Irishtown, Dublin.

The male defendant will appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court No1, this morning.

Last week it emerged that the 49-year-old motorist involved in the alleged road rage incident in Irishtown in Dublin had died from his injuries, over four days after the initial assault.

Raymond Bates, 49, had been assaulted with a hurley in the Sandymount, Irishtown area around 7.30pm on Sunday September 26 and had been in a coma since the attack.

He died at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he was being treated for injuries.

He had become involved in a dispute with another driver at the junction of Tritonville Road, Sandymount Road, and Newbridge Avenue in Dublin at about 7.30pm.

Man Dies In Overnight Road Crash
A man has died when his car collided with a van on the Rathbeale road in Swords, Dublin, around 02.30am on Wednesday morning. The man in his 40s was a passenger in the van. He died at the scene. The driver of the van and a second passenger are being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Gardaí in Irishtown investigating the murder have renewed their appeal for for witnesses to come forward.

Man Charged Over Fatal Dublin Stabbing
A 20-year-old Dublin man has been charged in connection with the stabbing of Mark Spellman in Sandymount on Saturday morning. Dane Pearse from the Irishtown area of south Dublin has been charged at Dublin District Court with serious assault and possession of a weapon.

Gardaí Launches Investigation Following Tiger Kidnap In Dublin
A major investigation is underway following the armed kidnapping of a family in north Dublin. The incident occurred this morning, 03 December. At around 5am, a mother and daughter were taken by an armed gang from their home in the Gracefield road/Artane area. They were put into a white/silver VA Caddy with the partial registration number 09-D.
