Helicopter Dispatched In Search For Missing Kerry Man

A search team will be dispatched this morning as part of the hunt for a man reported missing in County Kerry.

The search will be focused on Valentia Island in Kerry this afternoon for the 28-year-old man who has been missing since last night.

The man was one of a party-of-four who were taking photographs in the area. The alarm was raised when he failed to return.

A Coast Guard helicopter from Shannon, a Valentia Lifeboat and Knightstown Coast Guard unit are expected to take part in the search when it resumes this morning.

A team of Navy divers were also due on scene at around 7pm. Culloo Rock is a well-known fishing area on Valentia Island.

Meanwhile, Gardaí at Swords are seeking assistance from the public in tracing the whereabouts of 12-year-old Margaret “Maggie” Mc Donagh, who is missing from the Portrane area.

Margaret is described as being of slim build, approx 38 kilos and 1m 50cm in height, brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes and a pale complexion. When last seen she was wearing a pink Adidas top, white stripes on the arms, blue Canterbury trousers & black runners.

Margaret has been missing since 6pm on Saturday August 28.

Missing Galway Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Gardaí in Galway have reported that John Moyles has been found "safe and well". The 23-year-old, from the Rahoon area of Galway, was reported missing on Sunday. It is understood that he was found in the Dublin area. Garda have thanked the public for their help.

Missing Woman Margaret Fogarty Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing woman Margaret Fogarty, aged 93, has been found "safe and well". Margaret went missing near Druids Valley Park on Sunday, 21 August. She was wearing black/navy trousers, a white shirt with dark stripes, a dark purple cardigan and had a green walking aid. Gardaí have thanked the public for their help.

Ireland's law reform body has called for the plan to see the families of missing people to receive financial help with paying their bills. The Law Reform Commission (LRC) on Monday published its Consultation Paper on Civil Law Aspects of Missing Persons making 18 detailed provisional recommendations for reform of the law.

Gardaí are appealing for help in tracing missing Dublin man Greg Ward. Mr Ward, 31, was last seen in Blanchardstown on Sunday 3 May. He is described as being 6'2" in height and has a vast amount of tattoos and piercings over his body. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Issued For Missing 64-Year-Old Margaret O'Neill
Gardaí have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 64-year-old Margaret O'Neill, who has been missing from the Castlepark area of Tallaght since Tuesday, 20 August. Garda have said that they are "very concerned" for her welfare. Margaret was last seen in the Pine Grove Park area, Swords, Co Dublin.
