Police Appeal After Fatal Dublin Shooting

Detectives in Finglas have issued a description of a person they are looking for in relation to Saturday's fatal shooting incident at the junction of Barnamore Crescent and Saint Helena's Road, Finglas, Dublin 11.

It happened at approximately 6.50pm with Daniel Gaynor shot in front of his two children at around 7pm.

He was wounded a number of times on the street and was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives are still trying to establish a motive for the murder of the 25-year-old, who was well known to gardai for his involvement in serious crime.

Detectives are now seeking a man described as being 5'9" to 6' in height, of thin build and wearing a grey/blue tracksuit top, a dark baseball cap and white gloves. Following the shooting the man escaped on foot in the direction of Tolka Valley.

In a search of the area conducted immediately following the shooting, Gardai discovered a handgun which is believed to have been the one used in the shooting and gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Barnamore Crescent or Saint Helena's Road in Finglas or may have passed through the area between approximately 6.30pm and 7.10pm, or may have any information to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01-666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Body Found In Dublin
Gardaí have launched an investigation following the discovery of a body in the Finglas area of Dublin. Officers have sealed off the area after the discovery of the body of a man on Dunsoghly Lane, The Ward, Co. Dublin. The body was found shortly after 9.00pm on Thursday evening.

Fatal Shooting In Finglas
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a fatal shooting in the Finglas area of Dublin. Gardai in Finglas said they are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred inside a public house on Barry Road, Finglas at approximately 1am on Wednesday. During the incident, a lone gunman entered the public house and shot a male in his 30’s.

Teenager And Young Child Injured In Alleged Shooting In West Dublin
An investigation has been launched into an alleged shooting incident in West Dublin. According to reports, a teenager and a young child have been injured in an incident that gardaí have said is "ongoing" in the Parlickstown area of Blanchardstown.
