Plane Crash Kills Irish/SA National

A top South Africian author, Bree O'Mara is one of at least 10 people from the counrty who died in a plane crash in Libya on Wednesday.

Ms O'Mara, who also had Irish nationality, was reportedly on her way to London to sign a second book deal.

She is among 103 people killed when the plane from Johannesburg's OR Tambo Airport travelling to London's Gatwick Airport via Libya exploded on impact in Tripoli.

Authorities have not yet released the full list of South African victims.

The only survivor when the plane crashed as it came in to land at Tripoli airport was a nine-year-old Dutch boy.

Report Due On 2011 Cork Airport Plane Crash
The final report of an investigation into a plane crash at Cork Airport that killed six people is to be published today. The 19-seater Metroliner aircraft was arriving at Cork airport from Belfast on the morning of 10 February, 2011, when it crashed in dense fog. The plane was carrying ten passengers and two crew on the morning of the crash.
