Violent West Belfast Death Probed

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in west Belfast.

A police spokesperson in the North said the man was discovered with serious head injuries at Woodbourne Crescent in the Suffolk area early on Thursday morning.

Detectives are trying to identify the man and have appealed for anyone who may have information to contact them.

The victim was wearing a Celtic shirt, a cream jacket and black jeans and and had a Ben Sherman watch with a blue face.

The victim is thought to have been savagely beaten, as he was found with serious head injuries on wasteland at the back of Woodbourne PSNI station at 2am today.

The PSNI spokeswoman said the man was discovered still alive at Woodbourne Crescent in the Suffolk area.

The emergency services rushed to the area but the victim died at the scene a short time later.

Man Dies In Tipperary Collision
A man, aged in his 70s, has died in a collision in Tipperary. He was killed after the car he was driving collided with another car in Borrisokane on Sunday, 05 June, at around 5.15pm. The woman in the other car sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Limerick University Hospital.

Investigation Launched Following Suspicious Fire In Co Offaly
Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.
