Live Streaming Success For TV3

Internet users can now see their favourite Irish TV programmes live.

Dublin-based tv3 is allowing viewers to watch many of the most popular sports, news and current affairs programmes live, online at tv3.ie.

Since setting up Live Streaming in March, tv3.ie has reached over 40,000 live stream views with an average of 19.53 minutes time on site.

Now, due to increased demand tv3 viewers are now able to watch the most popular sports, news and current affairs programmes online at tv3.ie, including UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Tonight with Vincent Browne, TV3's News@5.30 and fyi.

In the short time that tv3.ie has set up its live streaming, it has reached over 40,000 live stream views with an average of 19.53 minutes time on site.

These impressive figures are due to the immense popularity of the shows, and the convenience of being able to watch them now.

TV3's Head of Online, Peter Clerkin said: "Increased demand to Live stream our content to platforms other than traditional TV sets has led us to develop and invest in new technologies.

"Our new streaming service will extend both TV3 and 3e's reach into the Irish consumer's entertainment world.

"With an initial offering of news, sport and current affairs this service will give our visitors instant access to some great content Live online.

"So now, whether at work or just on the move, viewers can continue to stay up to date with their favourite shows," he said.
