Séamus McMahon Murder Probe Seeks Help

An appeal has been launched for assistance from the public in tracking down the killers of Séamus McMahon.

Gardaí today are particularly attempting to find anyone who was in the area of Bellewsbridge Road/ entrance to Saltown Estate between 6pm and 7pm on Sunday evening the 21st March 2010 and who may have witnessed anything or anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

Mr McMahon, a 41-year-old father to a teenage son, was shot on March 21 and Gardaí believe that up to three men were involved in the incident.

So far, Gardaí believe two entered the house and the third waited in the white hatchback.

The men who entered the house were described a tall and wearing dark coloured hooded tops. When they left the house they jumped the back wall into the garden of another house and exited at the front of the houses. They then jumped a stone wall on the Bellewsbridge Road, where the white car was waiting. This car then drove in the direction of the Fatima/Toberona Estate.

A Gardaí spokesman said they would welcome contact from anyone who might have information "no matter how insignificant they may consider this information to be", and urged them to contact the incident room in Dundalk on 042 9388400, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

The investigating Gardaí said they are also anxious to eliminate from their enquiries, the following vehicles observed in the area of Saltown/ Bellewsbridge Road around the time of the incident.

A white Toyota Corolla hatchback; a blue/green Ford Focus hatchback; a silver or white estate car, similar to an Opel Astra/Vectra and a silver Peugeot.

Eight Arrested In Dundalk Murder Inquiry
Gardaí investigating the murder of Aidan Myers in Dundalk last year have arrested eight people. Six men and two women were arrested this morning. It is understood that four men, aged 19 and 26, are being questioned in relation to Mr Myers' murder, while two men and two women are being questioned on suspicion of withholding information.

Woman Charged Over Suspicious House Fire
A woman has been charged in relation to a suspicious house fire in Co Louth last year. Following an investigation into the blaze, which occurred at Cork Street in Drogheda on 16 August last year, gardaí confirmed a 27-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the incident. A woman, aged 73, was seriously injured in the fire in 2014.
