Kerry Hit And Run Probed

An investigation is underway after a hit and run incident in Co Kerry on Friday.

During the incident in the Killorglin area of Kerry a male pedestrian aged 51 was fatally injured by a vehicle that fled the area. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork Regional Hospital.

Gardai in Cahirciveen, are investigating the collision which occurred at Tinahalla on the Killorglin to Milltown Road (N70) at approx 8.30pm.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the Gardai in Cahirciveen on 066 9473600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Gardaí in Dunshaughlin have launched another investigation into a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on the N3 at Clowanstown, Dunshaughlin, County Meath at approximately 7am.

There were two men and two women in the car, all aged between their 20s and 30s. All four were taken to Blanchardstown Hospital. A female aged 22 was pronounced dead at Blanchardstown Hospital. The condition of the other three is described as not life threatening.

The road was closed for a Garda Forensic examination, however it has since reopened.

Garda Injured In Cork
A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night. The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged. He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm. The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Young Boy Dies In Farm Accident In Co Cork
Garda in Cork have reported the death of an 18-month-old boy in a farm accident. According to reports the boy is understood to have been struck by a tractor on the farm near the village of Killeagh, in east Cork. The accident happened at about midday, garda say. The death is being treated as a tragic accident.

Man Arrested Over Dublin Body Find
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Dublin last week. The body of Kevin Molloy was found at his home in Glendhu Road in Cabra, Dublin, on Sunday 01 February. Investigating garda said they believed Mr Molloy's body had laid undiscovered for some time.
