Victim 'Stable' After Setting Himself Ablaze

A man in his 40s is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after dousing himself in flammable liquid and setting himself alight outside a pub in West Cork.

The man, who is from the Clonakilty area, set fire to himself outside Fiddler's Green pub on Croppy Quay in Clonakilty at about 9pm and suffered serious burn injuries.

It is believed the alarm was raised by people in the pub and both the local fire brigade and ambulance personnel attended to the casualty at the scene.

The man suffered serious burn injuries and was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where his condition was last night described as "stable".

A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Four Injured In Dublin Shooting
Gardaí have said a man is in a critical condition in hospital following a shooting in Dublin. Three women were also injured in the incident. The shooting happened around 2.30am on Sunday morning, outside Hanlon's pub on the Old Cabra Road in the north of the city.

Man Assaulted at Mayfield
A man assaulted outside a Cork pub on Friday evening remains in a critical condition. The man is reported to be Miah Dennehy a former Cork Hibernian soccer player. He was attacked outside the Fob and Gill pub in Mayfield in the north of Cork city on Friday evening.

Man Injured In Dublin Pub Shooting
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident at a Dublin pub. A man was shot and injured at a pub in Sallynoggin at about 1am on Monday morning. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. He is being treated at St Vincent's University Hospital. Garda are investigating the shooting but say no arrests have yet been made.
