Gardai Investigate Two More Aggravated Burglaries In Co Donegal
Gardaí in Co Donegal are investigating to more separate aggravated burglaries carried out against elderly people.
Five men called to the home of a man in his 60s at Linsfort, Buncrana, at about 7.30pm on Tuesday night.
They forced their way into the house and demanded cash.
The man was assaulted and sustained minor injuries. He was then locked into a shed while his assailants fled the scene.
He managed to free himself and raise the alarm. The raiders escaped with a small amount of money.
In the second incident, five men called to the home of an 80-year-old woman at Ture, in Muff, at about 9pm.
They demanded cash and assaulted the woman, who suffered minor injuries. It is unclear if anything was taken during the incident.
It is believed that a blue/grey Proton car with a Northern Ireland registration plate may have been used in both incidents.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Buncrana, on 074-9320540, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any garda station.

Man Injured In Car Crash

Investigation Launched Following Suspicious Fire In Co Offaly
Gardai have launched an investigation following a suspicious fire at a house in Rhode, Co. Offaly on Monday. The incident occurred between 11.30pm on Sunday and 1.50am on Monday. A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to St James Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Eight Arrested In Connection With NYD Death
Gardaí investigating the death of Dale Creighton have arrested seven men and one woman. Mr Creighton died on 01 January this year following an assault at about 4am on New Year's Day. The 20-year-old man died in Beaumont Hospital from severe injuries sustained in the attack.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information following a stabbing incident in Co Limerick on Sunday night. An off-duty garda officer was stabbed in the hand in an incident at Bruach na Sionna, Castleconnell, shortly after 9pm.
