Police shoot man in Wales
A man is in critical condition after he was shot by an armed officer in Ebbw Vale, south Wales.
Negotiators and armed police had been investigating a report that an armed man was in a semi-detached house in the Rassau area.
One shot was fired by an officer at around 11:10pm wounding a 56 year old man in the stomach.
The Independent Police Commission are investigating the incident.
Gwent Police said that reports that an armed man was in a house were being investigated and that the man was in a critical condition following the shooting.
Neighbours said that the man had recently lost his mother and that his partner had died a little over a year ago.

Investigation continues as armed officers shoot man dead
Investigations were continuing today following the killing of a 23-year old man by armed officers from the Metropolitan Police in the Thornton Heath area of south London. According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, which took place at around 11.25am on Wednesday in Raymead Passage, London Road in Thornton Heath.

Man Arrested For 2002 Murder Of Becky Godden
Police investigating the disappearance of Becky Godden on December 2002, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Ms Godden was aged 20 when she disappeared in Swindon on 27 December. Her remains were found in 2011 on farmland in Gloucestershire.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.
