Teen stabbed in the stomach

A 16-year-old boy who was killed during a street fight in south London at the weekend was stabbed in the stomach.

A post-mortem revealed that Ben Hitchcock died from a stab wound to the abdomen.

Ben was stabbed to death in Beckenham just before midnight on Saturday. Police were called to the scene following reports of a gang fight in the area. They found the teenager suffering from serious injuries and he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Fourteen teenagers, all aged between 13 and 16 and including one girl, were arrested in connection with Ben's death. They have all been released on bail until Wednesday.

Police said that they believed that the stabbing was related to an incident where a group of people tried to gatecrash a party at a house near Southend Road. A fight broke out afterwards and police said that a number of knives and bricks had been recovered from the area.

Police have appealed for information.
