Man in court over Kate's murder

A 27-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Surrey woman Kate Beagley.

Karl Joseph Taylor, a football coach from central London, is accused of murdering the 32-year-old from Walton-on-Thames, who disappeared after going on a date on May 30.

Mr Taylor was arrested on Friday night on suspicion of kidnap and was then re-arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.

He was remanded in custody at Staines Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on September 11.

A body, believed to be that of the missing woman, was found in Oxhey Woods in Oxhey in Hertfordshire in the early hours of Monday morning.

However, formal identification has yet to take place and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Faversham at the weekend. Kent Police confirmed Lincoln Payne, of no fixed abode, had been charged with robbery, theft and two counts of attempted murder following an incident in Fostall Avenue on Saturday, 30 May.

Man in court over London axe murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in London on Monday. Joseph Sheehan, a 37-year-old waiter, appeared before Highbury Corner magistrates, charged with the murder of 67-year-old Brian Messitt. The body of Mr Messitt was found in Eton Avenue, Swiss Cottage, London, shortly after 9:30am on Monday morning.

Man in court over elderly couple murder
A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of an elderly couple in Kent. Brett Clifton, 21, of Beckett Street, Faversham, is accused of murdering Terry Martin, 72, and his wife Vera, 78, in their home. Mr Clifton appeared before Sittinghourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.
