Paedophile jailed for life for bath snatch rape
A convicted paedophile has been jailed for life for the abduction and rape of a six-year-old girl who was snatched from the bath in her home.
Peter Voisey, 35, of Blyth, Northumberland, snatched the girl from her home in North Tyneside on December 27 last year and sexually assaulted her before dumping her naked in a back lane near her home.
Vosiey, also known as Smith, was convicted last month of abduction, rape and sexual assault at Newcastle Crown Court.
At sentencing on Friday, Vosiey was told that he would have to serve 10 years before being considered for parole.
During the trial, the court heard that Voisey had been previously convicted of the indecent assault of a 12-year-old girl at a leisure centre in Macclesfield, Cheshire in 2001.

An 11-month-old baby has died after being mauled by a pet dog, police in Lancashire have said. The baby girl, from Emily Street in Blackburn, died in hospital at about 23:00 on Monday. Police have arrested a 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.
