Director appointed for NI Washington Bureau

The Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister has today announced the appointment of Tim Losty as Director of the Northern Ireland Bureau in Washington.

Mr Losty will take charge of the Bureau whose remit covers political, social, educational and economic matters.

Prior to taking up his appointment, Mr Losty had been Manager of the Eastern Local Office of Invest NI since July 1992.

Mr Losty worked as Economic Development Officer with the Poleglass Economic Development Group from August 1984 until January the following year. He was later appointed Economic Development Researcher with the NI Council for Voluntary Action before joining LEDU in October 1987 on a secondment basis as a Client Executive in Enterprise Development.

Mr Losty then became a Marketing Executive in LEDU’s Management Development Team and was Senior Regional Executive with LEDU’s Belfast Regional Office and also with its General Manufacturing & Services team.

Married with two children, his interests include keep fit, swimming and mountain biking.
