M1 resurfacing scheme set for Loughgall junction

The Roads Service is set to start a £100,000 resurfacing scheme on the M1 Loughgall Junction from next week.

A Roads Service spokesperson said the scheme was necessary in order to strengthen the road and improve the skidding resistance and running surface for road users.

"The scheme is part of the Motorway Maintenance Programme and it has been carefully scheduled in order to minimise inconvenience to the travelling public. However, there may be some disruption due to the works.

"Resurfacing will take place on the west bound on and off slips to the junction and these slip roads will be closed from Monday 15th to Friday 19th September to facilitate the work. The Motorway will however remain open to through traffic."

During the scheme traffic will be diverted via the Tamnamore Junction (Junction 14) and the Tamnamore Road in both directions. Other motorway traffic will be unaffected by the works.
