UK Armed Forces Honoured
Over 130 members of the armed forces will be honoured in the latest Operational Awards List.
Medals will be awarded to UK service personnel including a man who neutralised 42 bombs in 72 hours and a teenager who seized a Taliban leader.
The majority of awards will go to soldiers from 11 Light Brigade - the UK's lead formation in Afghanistan. Senior royals will present them with their honours at a later date.
Liam Fox, Defence Secretary said the awards reflected incredible bravery.
Rifleman Reece Terry, of the 4th Battalion The Rifles is among those on the Ministry of Defence list, who will receive the Queen's Gallantry Medal for Bravery.
Armed with only a metal detector and night vision goggles, he led a 100-strength force over seven irrigation ditches, through two belts of disused compounds and across fields.
Sgt Maj Karl Ley, of the Royal Logistic Corps, made history by clearing 139 bombs during his six-month tour of Helmand province. This was twice as many as any other bomb disposal expert. He will be presented with the George Medal for "awesome bravery" in tackling bombs.
Dr Fox commented: "Each of these awards highlights the extraordinary courage and incredible bravery that is displayed by our service personnel.
"Our armed forces are the best in the world and those recognised today should feel extremely proud of their actions."

PC Ian Dibell Posthumously Wins Bravery Award
A national police bravery award has been posthumously awarded to PC Ian Dibell (41), who was killed when he tackled a gunman in the street near his home. Mr Dibell died while trying to disarm Peter Reeve, who had opened fire on a couple in Clacton, Essex, in July last year.

Members Of Armed Forces Recognised By Military Honours
British soldier Simon Moloney, 23, of the Blues and Royals is one of the 117 members of the armed forces awarded for bravery. His recognition was the second highest military award for bravery in Afghanistan, where after was seriously injured by a gunshot wound.

Soldiers and civilians set to receive Iraq campaign medal
A new Iraq medal to recognise military and support operations is set to be issued in the coming weeks, the MoD has said today. Members of Britain's armed forces, UK civilians, including embedded media, and certain foreign nationals assigned to the operation, are eligible for the medal.
