Body Confirmed As Missing Dublin Man

Gardaí searching for missing Dublin man Seoirse Mac Gabhann have confirmed that they have found his body.

The 52-year-old had been missing since Tuesday, when he was due to take a train from Dundalk to Dublin.

No details on the circumstances surrounding Mr Mac Gabhann's death have been released.

Garda have thanked the public for the assistance in the search of Mr Mac Gabhann.

Cork Man Charged In France Over Cocaine Seizure

A 57-year-old man from Cork city is understood have appeared in court in France, charged over the seizure of €600,000 worth of cocaine.

It is understood that the drugs were seized by French authorities and their counterparts in Jersey as part of an intelligence-led operation.

The Irishman has not been named but is understood to be aged 57 and from Bishopstown in Cork.

People Not To Post Festive Plans Online As Burglaries Increase

Gardaí have warned people of the risk of burglary posed by posting details of their festive plans on social media.

Speaking on Newstalk's Breakfast show, a gardaí representative said that posting your plans on sites such as Facebook and Twitter highlighted the days and times your home will be empty.

It is understood that burglaries rise by around 50% in the festive period, with the crime rising again last week in Dublin, marking the sixth consecutive increase.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning
A weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann and will be in place for most of the day (Friday). The yellow warning comes as up to 40mm of rain is due to fall today, with winds also reaching gale force. Rain is expected to move southeastwards throughout the day and will be heavy in places.

Man Released Following Dublin Shooting
A man has been released without charge after being questioned in connection with the shooting of a boy in Dublin on Friday. The six-year-old was shot in the neck in Ballyfermot. A man was detained on suspicion of withholding information. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
