Cannabis, Firearm And Cars Seized By Garda
Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €28,000, a firearm and four cars have been seized by garda in Tallaght.
The seizures were made during a search of a premises at Cookstown Industrial Estate on Wednesday.
Two men, aged 29 and 39, have been arrested in connection with the finds.
Funding To Be Extended For Schools' Book Rental Programme
Funding from a State scheme originally designed to support new schemes only, is to be extended to help schools continue operating book rental programmes.
Up to €8m is to be shared between schools offering the programme. In the last Budget, the government had allocated €15m to the programme.
Man Arrested In Connection With Wicklow Drug Seizure
Garda in Wicklow have arrested a man in his 50s in connection with the seizure of cannabis herb and cannabis plants with a combined estimated street value of up to €37,000.
Garda carried out a planned search of a property at Ballard, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow, as part of an ongoing operation targetting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the area.
A male in his 50s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Bray Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Men Arrested Over Santry Cannabis Seizure
Cannabis worth an estimated €150,000 has been seized from a home in Larchill, Santry in Dublin, on Saturday. Gardaí arrested four men in connection with the find. They are due to appear in court on Monday.

Man Arrested Following Cannabis Find
A man has been arrested following the discovery of cannabis plants in the Kilclare area of Carrick-on Shannon. The plants, valued at €240,000, were recovered after a house was searched yesterday afternoon. The 44-year-old man is currently being detained at Manorhamilton garda station.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Seizure
A man has been arrested following a drugs seizure in Cork at around 10.30pm on Wednesday night. Around €58,000 worth of cannabis plants and equipment were found during the search of a house in Mallow. He is currently being questioned at Mallow garda station.
