Garda Injured In Cork

A garda has been injured while on duty in Cork on Monday night.

The sergeant has been treated in hospital but has been discharged.

He was bringing a patient, aged in his 20s, to the Mercy University Hospital just after 6pm.

The garda is based at Gurranabraher Garda Station.

Man Attacked In East Cork
Gardaí are appealing for information after a man in his 40s was attacked in east Cork on Tuesday. The victim was assaulted at Meat Shambles Lane in Youhal at around 3pm. He is currently being treated at Cork University Hospital, however his injures are not believed to be life-threatening. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Young Boy Dies In Farm Accident In Co Cork
Garda in Cork have reported the death of an 18-month-old boy in a farm accident. According to reports the boy is understood to have been struck by a tractor on the farm near the village of Killeagh, in east Cork. The accident happened at about midday, garda say. The death is being treated as a tragic accident.
