Down Forklift Training Ltd is an I.T.S.S.A.R.-approved training centre with a long-established reputation for high training standards in accordance with the HSE-approved Code of Practice (L117).

Based in our new, specifically designed premises on the Hawe Road, Bangor, Co. Down, Down Forklift Training Ltd provide training for a wide range of courses.

Courses cater for Novices, Experienced Operators and Refresher Operators.

Typically a Novice Operator Course will run for between 3-5 days depending on the experience, if any, of the potential operator.

Experienced Operator courses will run for between 1-3 days, again depending on the experience of the potential operator.

Refresher Courses last 1 day only, and basically refresh and re-accredit the existing operator in accordance with PUWER and the ACoP.

Plant Training
Down Forklift Training Ltd have recently opened a new plant training area, located at our new premises in County Down.

Plant courses typically run as follows:

• 10-day Course - Novice Operator
• 5-day Course - Experienced Operator (never formally tested)
• 3-day Course - Experienced Operator (licence lapsed)
• 1-day Refresher Course (operator requiring re-certification)

We carry out the following training:


Instructor Training
Down Forklift Training Ltd currently have two accredited tutors, who are able to carry out Instructor Training at our premises.

We provide Instructor Training for:

• Forklift Trucks
• Manual Handling
• Abrasive Wheels
• Plant

Instructor Training is available to Category 1 level, which means that if the candidate is successful on the course they will only be registered to carry out "In-House Training". This means that they cannot carry out any commercial training until they apply for, and are granted, Category 2 status by the accrediting body.

Driver C.P.C. Training
Down Forklift Training is now an approved C.P.C. training centre. This means that we will be able to look after not only your workplace transport training requirements, but also your driver training requirements.

What is Driver CPC?
The Driver CPC is for LGV and PCV drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK. It has been developed as a requirement of the EU Directive 2003/59, which is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of professional LGV and PCV drivers throughout their working life.
