Bangor UXB Closes Roads
Two roads in Bangor have been closed following the discovery of what is believed to be an unexploded World War Two mortar. Castle Park Road and Castle Park Avenue have been closed to traffic.
Ward Alert Over Bug Outbreak
Clostridium difficile infection has been detected in Craigavon Area Hospital. Seven new cases of the C. Diff have emerged in the last two weeks although the Southern Health Trust said it was a higher number than expected noting that the ward concerned is closed to further admissions and deep cleaning has been initiated and other measures to control the outbreak undertaken. The Trust said the rise in C. Diff cases had coincided with an increase in patients admitted to hospital with the winter vomiting and diarrhoea bug, also known as the norovirus.
Limavady Alert 'Hoax'
Residents have now been allowed to return to their homes in a Co Londonderry town after a security alert was declared a "deliberate hoax" by police. The army was called in to examine a suspicious object found near the police station on Connell Street in Limavady which resulted in up to 20 homes being evacuated. The majority of those who had to leave their homes were elderly. They were provided with shelter at Limavady Leisure Centre.
Post Restraint
The postal service has now resumed as normal after a postman based at the Kilkeel Delivery Office has been suspended for withholding mail. A number of people in the Co Down town have not received any post for about six weeks.
Orde Makes Final Cut For Met Post
Sir Hugh Orde has been shortlisted to be the next head of the Metropolitan Police in London. Nine senior police officers applied for the post which was vacated by Sir Ian Blair earlier this year. Sir Hugh began his career in policing with the Met in 1977, and rose to the rank of Deputy Assistant Commissioner.

NI's First and Deputy First Minister's have officially open a new £11 million shared education campus in Limavady. Education Minister Paul Givan accompanied the Ministers to view the newly completed campus bringing together St Mary's and Limavady High School sites with a range of new shared facilities.

Limavady Man Jailed For Range Of Domestic Abuse Charges
A 30-year-old Limavady man has been sentenced at Antrim Crown Court for five offences including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic abuse and common assault. Eamon Begley was sentenced to four years – two years in prison and two years on licence.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

Former City Centre Police Station To Become New 74-Bedroom Hotel
A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.
