Police fire on car in north Belfast
Detectives in north Belfast opened fire at a car following what is understood to be an attempted robbery.
One shot was fired, and believed to have struck a car when a patrol was called to Chichester Park South at around 2:30am.
Police were alerted when a house alarm went off.
A PSNI spokesman said an officer fired the single shot at a car, and the vehicle sped off from the scene. It was later recovered at Henry Place.
There are no reported injuries and no arrests were made.
The Police Ombudsman has been informed and an investigation into the incident will take place.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Minister Condemns Attacks On Fire Crews
Attacks on fire crews place their lives in danger and put communities at risk, said Public Safety Minister Michael McGimpsey today. Condemning a further spate of attacks on firefighters in Dungannon and Londonderry over the weekend, the Minister said it was absolutely unacceptable for anyone to assault emergency workers.

A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.
