Rain and gales cause chaos in England and Wales
Severe weather conditions have caused flooding and travel chaos across many parts of England and Wales.
Severe weather warnings are in place in many areas, with an entire month's average rainfall forecast for some places, including Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and northeast Wales, although the southeast is expected to escape the worst of the weather.
The Environment Agency has 115 flood watches in place across England and Wales and ten severe flood warnings.
A man has died in Hull after being trapped in a flooded drain.
A number of schools and roads are closed in Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, while 70 dogs were also rescued from a flooded kennels in Gloucester.
Fire and rescue services from the South West to Humberside have reportedly received hundreds of calls from people affected by flooding, while hunderds of homes in Herefordshire have been left without electricity.
Homes in north Devon has also been badly affected by flooding.
There are also disruptions on the railways, with services run by Central Trains, Chiltern Railways, First Capital Connect, First Great Western, Transpennine Express and Virgin Trains all affected by the weather.
Play has been delayed at the opening day of Wimbledon, while thousands of music fans travelling home from the Glastonbury festival in Somerset faced more misery following a weekend of heavy rain at the event.
Dame Shirley Bassey, who performed at Glastonbury, was forced to land her helicopter at Collingwood College in Camberley, Surrey, because of the weather.

Torrential rains cause chaos across the UK
Torrential rains are sweeping across the UK, causing flooding and travel problems. Some areas of the country are expected to receive two months' worth of rain in 24 hours. Berkshire is one of the worst affected areas, with many areas affected by flash flooding. The council is distributing sand bags.

Flood Warnings Issued Amid 'Supertides' Fears
A number of flood warnings have been issued amid fears of a rare "supertides" phenomenon in Pembrokeshire. A number of roads will be closed on Saturday morning as spring tides reach the peak of an 18-and-a-half-year cycle. Pembrokeshire Council have warned that the high tide coupled with bad weather, flooding is a risk.

More heavy rain forecast for weekend
Already inundated with heavy rainfall in the last week parts of Britain are bracing for yet more heavy rain. The current forecast is for up to 50mm of rain as the Met Office has issued a severe weather warning.

Women Motorists 'More Prepared' For Bad Weather
Women drivers are more likely to get caught out by severe weather, according to new research published by the Highways Agency. A survey of nearly 1,300 road users showed that women were less likely than men to make a journey by car after hearing a severe weather warning. Only 44% of women said that they would continue, compared with 62% of men.

Travel Disrupted By Chaotic Weather
A teenage girl has died after the coach she was travelling in crashed in South Lanarkshire. More than 40 people were inside the vehicle when it overturned in snowy condition at around 6am this morning. It is believed 39 of those on-board were school children on their way to a theme park, accompanied by five members of staff.
