Crymble to appeal murder conviction

A County Armagh woman is set to appeal her conviction for murdering her husband, a court has heard today.

Jacqueline Crymble, 35, and Roger Ferguson, 31,were found guilty of murdering Paul Crymble three years ago at Richill in 20 June 2004. The father-of-two was found suffocated in his car with a plastic bag taped tightly around his neck, and his feet and hands bound with cable ties.

The Co Armagh woman’s barrister, Jacqueline Orr QC told the court the woman had maintained her innocence and that a notice of appeal against her conviction has been lodged.

She claimed four masked men had broken into the family home searching for drugs and money, before attacking and kidnapping her husband.

At her four-month trial, the judge told Mrs Crymble she would serve every day of the sentence given.

The jury took less than four hours to find the defendants guilty.

Sentencing has been adjourned until Wednesday 27 June.
