Teenage boy charged with two rapes
A 14-year-old boy has appeared at Belfast Youth Court charged with raping two 10-year-old girls.
The boy was also charged with committing an act of gross indecency against one of the victims. He cannot be named for legal reasons.
The mother of the teenager told the court he had been diagnosed as suffering from attention deficit disorder and was receiving treatment.
She also said that if he was granted bail both she and her husband would supervise him 24 hours a day.
A detective, however, said there was a risk he may commit further offences as well as interfering with witnesses if he was released on bail.
Resident Magistrate George Conner refused bail.
