Murdered doorman’s funeral takes place

The funeral of murdered doorman Brian McGlynn is due to take place today.

The 28-year-old was shot while at his home in the Fountain Hill area of the Waterside, Londonderry on Sunday.

He had been sleeping in bed and his 24-year-old girlfriend, who was also in the bedroom, but was was uninjured in the attack.

Two masked men had carried out the killing in the early hours of the morning.

Mr McGlynn will be buried following a service at Leckpatrick Parish Church in Ballymagorry.

He had worked as a doorman at the Red Rooms nightclub another pub in the city.

Five men had been questioned about the murder, however they were all released without charge.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.
