Fire crews tackle chemical plant fire

Firefighters are battling a large blaze at a chemical plant in Crewe.

A 600-metre exclusion zone has been set up at the Aztec Chemicals plant, which makes aerosol products, on the Crewe Gates Industrial Estate.

The plant has been evacuated, as have other businesses and factories in the area, while firefighters tackle the blaze, which broke out shortly after noon.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area and residents in the area are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

Fire Crews Tackle 'Huge' Recycling Plant Fire
A huge fire at a recycling plant in Salford has been brought under control, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has reported. The fire at the Junction Eco Park, in the Clifton area of Swinton, broke out at about 16:40 on Sunday, and involved what authorities called a "large quantity" of recycled plastics.

Motorists Advised To Avoid Area Of Tyre Fire
Motorists have been advised to avoid the Fairglen interchange at Rayleigh and the Carpenters Arms roundabout as smoke from a large tyre fire has reduced visibility. A stack of tyres more than 160ft long and 6ft tall on a waste storage site have been burning since Monday night.

Fire Crews Tackle Hotel Blaze
A probe is underway after a major fire broke out at a Darlington hotel. Around 50 firefighters tackled the inferno at the King's Head in Priestgate when it broke out at 12.30am this morning. It is understood the fire began on the fourth floor and has now caused so much damage that the building is in danger of collapsing.

Fire Crews Battle 'Worst' Heath Fire
A heath blaze, described as one of the worst in years, was yesterday brought under control by more than 50 firefighters. The fire devastated almost one-third of Talbot Heath in Poole, and fire crews worked for almost three hours to get the fire under control. The fire broke out at around 4.30pm on Sunday.
