‘Crude’ bomb found at housing estate
A bomb has been found in a residential area of south Belfast, the Police Service of Northern Ireland have revealed.
The device, described by a police spokesperson as “crude but viable”, was discovered at the rear of a British Telecom junction box on the Primrose Hill estate off Belfast’s Saintfield Road, just before 6:30am today.
Army Technical officers were called to the scene and removed a number of objects from the Ballylenaghan Heights site for examination.
MP Alasdair McDonnell said: “I would condemn those responsible for creating this device and leaving it where they left it.
“We have left a lot of this madness behind us and we want to keep it behind us.”

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.
