Tornado hits London street
A tornado that struck a north London street has injured six people, and caused severe damaged to several houses and cars.
The tornado which lasted just seconds ripped off roofs, tore down walls in Chamberlayne Road in Kensal Rise at around11am this morning.
The tornado which eyewitnesses described as being accompanied by lightning tore sent slates flying through the air hitting people and cars.
One person was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries and at least five others were treated for shock and minor injuries.
The area has been cordoned off while the damge to buildings is assessed.
London was experiencing hail and thunderstorms at the time the tornado struck.

A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Welsh village struck by 'tornado'
A clean-up operation is underway in a Welsh village after it was struck by what is believed to have been a small tornado in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Emergency services were called to Bow Street in Aberystwyth in West Wales around 2am, as more than 20 houses were damaged in the storm.

Birmingham struck by second tornado
Birmingham is believed to have been struck by another tornado as severe weather continued to affect the UK. A roof was ripped off a house in Dovey Road, Moseley by the high winds and a nearby road was closed when it became littered with debris. It is understood that no one was in the house at the time and there were no reports of injuries.

Clean up begins after Birmingham tornado
A huge clean-up operation is taking place in Birmingham, after a freak tornado ripped through the city on Thursday. Birmingham was hit by winds of up to 130mph on Thursday afternoon, which damaged buildings, ripped roofs from houses, over-turned cars and uprooted trees.
