Woman shot dead at christening party
Police have arrested four people, one of them a 14-year-old boy, after a woman was shot dead at a south London community centre.
The shooting incident occurred at around 8pm on Saturday after three males, who it is believed gate-crashed the party, opened fire on guests.
A Sierra-Leone born woman, reported to be in her 30's, who was holding a child at the time was shot dead.
The incident is being investigated by officers from Operation Trident, a specialist unit in the Metropolitan Police that deals with gun-related crimes.
Police said that there was no clear line of inquiry as a motive for the attack had not yet been established, but confirmed that the victim was a guest of the family holding the christening party.
It is understood that a number of shots had been fired at guests in what has been described as a random spray pattern. It is not thought that the woman, who died from a gunshot to the head, was singled out during the attack.
The gang apparently stole handbags, mobile phones, and other items before making off.

Man Who Threatened Woman With A Knife Shot Dead By Police
A man, who broke into a house in London and threatened a woman with a knife, has been shot dead by police. Officers attended an incident at a property in Islington at around 11pm on Thursday. It is believed that the man and woman knew each other. The woman was not harmed, however she is being treated for shock, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Salford's 'Mr Big' Shot Dead Outside Home
A convicted criminal and businessman has been shot dead outside his home in Salford. The victim was 55-year-old father of five Paul Massey. Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man had died of gunshot wounds in the Clifton area following reports of gunfire at approximately 7:30pm on 26 July.

Florida Murders Suspect Named
Detectives in the U.S have named the 16-year-old arrested in connection with the murders of two British men in Florida. Shawn Tyson has been charged with two counts of murder. James Kouzaris, 24, from Northampton, and James Cooper, 25, of Warwick were on holiday together.

A murder investigation is underway after a man was shot dead outside a primary school in the Harlesden area of north London. The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was discovered injured in the street in Shakespeare Avenue, Stonebridge. Officers, who found the man, were called at about 2.

Man in court over Manchester pub shootings
A 42-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with the double murder of two men who were shot dead outside a Manchester pub. Ian George McLeod, of Victoria Street, Radcliffe appeared at Salford magistrates' court charged with conspiracy to commit murder. He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Square on April 10.
